Activities
The countryside here also provides a haven for outdoor pursuits - walking the coast path, cycling, horse riding and of course water sports. For the energetic we might suggest kayaking along the coast or on the river, or surfing.
Making the Most of the Coast
Exploring the Pembrokeshire coast path can be as relaxing or demanding as you want - take a gentle walk and use the Shuttle buses to give your feet a rest, or plan a full day taking in seascapes, lighthouses, forts and activities. If you are feeling adventurous you might try a day's coasteering - surely the most hands-on way to experience the coastline by scrambling along it and jumping in and out of the sea. This unique and exhilarating sport can be arranged with guides in nearby St Davids.
Pembrokeshire also offers some of the best coastal climbing in the UK.
Out on the water is also a great way to see the county - from a different perspective. If you have experience on the water there are plenty of access points for your own kayak or canoe, or you can hire from various companies. Guided and safe days out for beginners can also be arranged. A gentle sea paddle reveals the stunning geology of the coast, and you will also see wildlife including seabirds and maybe seals. Or if you prefer to sit back and let someone else do the work, boat trips are also available from various coastal points and include fishing trips and island visits such as Skomer nature reserve.
